Hello Neighbors of District 8!

We are excited to announce a fantastic opportunity for our community. Councilmen Chris Nettle’s office is teaming up with South-Point Constructors and United Black Contractors to bring you a job fair for the Southeast Connector Project. This project, hosted by TxDOT and contracted by South-Point, is set to create hundreds of job openings, and we want you to be a part of it!

There will be positions available in various fields, including general labor, concrete paving, mechanics, CDL drivers, equipment operators, and utility locators. The best part? These positions are background-friendly and come with comprehensive health benefits.

We’re excited to share that our Executive Director, Kenny Mosley has been selected to be a 2023 Truist Foundation Racial Equity Ambassador through Purpose Built Communities. Through this eight-month fellowship program, Mosley will have access to trainings, one on one coaching, and practical strategies to advance racial equity within our neighborhoods and across the Purpose Built Network.
